It says up to ten bonus points for EAS on the website (except double degree medicine), yet I keep hearing people say they only give up to five. Would an applicant with an atar of 98 and no EAS be favoured over an applicant with an atar of 88 + 10 EAS factors?

Also, don't forget about bonus points – quite a lot of instititions have them, and they pretty much apply for everything except combined law, commerce (liberal studies) any honour courses, and one or two more.

Just as long as it cover the date (s) of the assessment of exam - which is a must for an approved outcome, in that case, yours did, so you should be good. USYD, however, adopts different scheme (but same in principle) called Broadway Scheme. This scheme awards less ATAR "bonus points". Please visit the USYD website for more details.
